Dust off that blog-- Two step #1

It's time to dust of this blog. For two years I've been periodically contributing to another blog - "Feast on Books."  You can see that it has tapered off considerably since December. The blog is supposed to have several contributors, but staff seemed to have lost interest or gotten too busy (that's my excuse).

Blogging does not come naturally to me.  Maybe I am too much of a perfectionist, but I find it to be very time consuming.  It would take me at least 4 hours to write one blog and this did not include the time it took to read the books I was reviewing.  Unfortunately for me, I am a slow reader. I may only read one to two books a month.  I found that I was not enjoying reading as much.  It became more like a homework assignment.  I had to pick books to read that were "safe" for the public and had popular mass appeal - not necessarily stuff that I wanted to read for my own pleasure.

My apologies. I didn't mean for this to turn into a whine fest. In a less busy world (like when I'm retired) I wouldn't mind trying it again.

In the nick of time

This North Texas 23 could not have come at a better time for me. I am going to start contributing to Fort Worth Library's "Readers Nook" blog. My first article will appear on Wednesday. It looks unsophisticated compared to the more experienced contributors, but I am sure it will look better as I gain more experience. The trick will be coming up with something to write about every week. We'll see how it goes. I will be most interested in seeing if I get any reader feedback. Wish me luck!
